What does out think of the Kelty Redwing 50 Tactical? I really like the features and wanted to get one but it doesn't have the Perfect Fit system (adjustable torso height) that the standard version has. Should I get the standard or tactical?

Attaching shit to a plate carrier is retarded. A laptop sleeve isnt a radio pouch and do you have a harris radio? You dont need the daisychain but also lol how is a daisychain tacticool? It isnt molle. Only medics usr internal organizers. Having a larger zipper is a plus, but it seems like you want the suspension system. Also, having bombproof packs is nice, but ive been using my exos for 3 years and its 100d and no rips.

Do what you want, but i would get the non tacticool. I have 4 packs from the military and I only ever use one as a carry on bag because it is the exact size.

I actually use the redwing 50 tacticool as my pack. I didn't even know the tacticool was a thing when I got it, I was just looking at redwings and liked the zippers and fabric more.
As a pack I really like it. Maybe I got lucky and the torso fits me perfectly but I have no issues.

Why the fuck are people so afraid of MOLLE? Why isn't it more common on civilian equipment? It's a very useful feature to have sometimes.

Im not afraid of it, i just dont think it is necessary for most people. How many molle atachments do you have on a pack? Its a good idea but doesnt pay off i real life much.

I used to be all about talking shit about the ultra light fags on here. I used all my old army gear and spat on the /out/ists that decried it. But then i got an exos 58 and it didnt just break and it was super comfortable and i never looked back.

You will never use it and it doubles the weight of your pack, which has to be heavy as fuck to support it.

But by all means. Use a 6 pound pack just because you might one day want to add a pouch to it. By no means should you take my recomendation. I hope you buy 20 packs.

Bah, molle saved me from having to buy a special winter mountaineering pack, lets me carry a fishing pole diagonally across the pack so it never gets hung up on laurel in summer, keeps my binoculars close in the fall, and dozens of other one-off scenarios I can't remember

Nice to have, but adds weight & if you take minimal care, lighter fabric will last perfectly well

All the rest are fluff at best, unneeded weight at worst. If you're just doing overnighters, it probably won't matter much; get whichever you like best. If you're doing 5+ day trips, a standard will probably perform better for the average packer
