Hello /out/; let's talk about our worst enemy, the mosquito. Mosquitoes carry harmful viruses and disease and are an agent of some of the worst animal to animal diseases. So what I want to talk about is how to protect yourself from them and how to eradicate them from an area. We all know the store brand repellant doesn't work and the candles are pissing in the wind.
What articles of clothing offer good coverage from mosquito's without being cumbersome?
What repellants do actually work?
Is there any way to rid them semi-permanently from a large area (like a field) ?
What are some methods to protect your pets while outdoors?
The reason I ask this and bring this topic up is that I am an amateur astronomer and I have found a wonderful observation area with low light pollution, however the moment the sun goes down I am covered in mosquitoes and my dog is also suffering. I would hate to abandon this area but the mosquito problem there is pretty serious.
