I've seen a lot of conflicting information around the web about pine tea, are certain types of pine (ie Scott's pine) perfectly safe to drink even in large quantities? The only wild tea I trust completely right now is cedar but I wish to expand my horizons.

I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing cedar tree tea yet.
There are cedars in my local /out/ I believe so I should go try it some time, thanks for the tip!

Some are poisonous, but afaik Scots Pine and Douglas Fir are completely safe to drink.

The leaves of the Yew, which can easily be mistaken for a Pine, are poisonous for example.
They can be recognized by their berrylike cones.

You would have to be pretty stupid and un/out/ to mistake those plants. They're really nothing alike at all, and the berries won't be there the majority of the time.

Don't have pics handy, but I drink yaupon tea fairly regularly, since yaupon grows everywhere here. North America's only native caffeinated plant.

Dont have any pics, but I made birch tea in my back yard a few weeks ago. Wasnt great tasting, but the extra vitamin c helped me get over a cold, so thats nice.

The taste in my experience is kinda similar to the way pine/spruce smells but with some citrus.
It's a rather unique flavour and I can't think of anything that tastes like it.
