Get there early. Like before the rangers get there so you can secure a parking spot and beat the crowds.

The Narrows are gorgeous, but fucking full of people. It's like visiting an amusement park. The hikes, bar Angel's Landing, are like any in a national park-- you'll find solitude the further you go.

Don't bother camping inside the park, there's plenty of free camping 10 - 30 minutes from the park. Some you can get to in a sedan, some you'll need some ground clearance and maybe AWD/4WD.

im driving up from Vegas, so whats the procedure? i want to go on a budget. cant spend 500 on staying there, i was thinking about sleeping in my car or a hotel near st George. if i go to the park at say.. 6am, before the office jours, can I just drive up and park to avoid using a shuttle and all that homoseks?

Well if you're trying to do it on the cheap I would suggest you leave Vegas at 4am, spend all day at Zion and then spend the night camping in the Dixie National Forest about an hour and a half north, next to Cedar City.

Camping there is free, on a plateau at about 10,000 feet in a high alpine setting. It will also put you closer to your other two destinations.

If you are alright with driving on not-well-graded dirt roads I would suggest hitting up Smithsonian Butte Road just South of Rockville. Plenty of free primitive camp site with great views. You'll be 25ish minutes from Zion proper. Or you could camp at Kolob Reservoir.
