Knipex Cobras. Knipex is kinda a meme brand when you ask around the interwebs, but they sell some of their stuff at certain Home Depots and they make some of the best pliers out there.

The Cobras have the button to adjust the jaws. Most brands make something similar now. You can get a 2-pack of Irwins like that for <$20 at Lowe’s and they’re pretty nice. Channellock sells a version of them too but I have yet to try them. I needed a pair at work last week and got the Milwaukee version from HD since the Knipex and Irwins were at home, and I don’t like them.

Also the big silver one in this pic is the 10” Pliers Wrench. Irwin just released a version too. The Knipex are like $50, but I highly recommend trying them. Get the 7.25” for around home and you will never touch a crescent wrench again because these work way better. They get shilled on /diy/ and stuff and I was hesitant to spend the money until my normie buddy who does comms installs and works on cars was telling me how great they are.

One of the reasons people like the Knipex Cobras-Alligators is because of the thin jaws. Alligators are the old school design where you need to open the jaws to slide them, Cobras are the ones with the button. The button is way more useful.

-10” Irwin button adjust

-8” Irwin button adjust
-8” Milwaukee button adjust
-5” Knipex Cobras

Avoid the Milwaukee channellocks. I have a 12” pair with straight jaws and no button as well as the 8” V-jaw w/button in this pic and they both feel sloppy plus the button on the 8” is retarded and sticks out 1/2” farther than it needs to. The Irwin 2pk was on sale at Lowe’s, $15 for the 8” and 10” and that is a steal. The V-jaw and quick adjust works way better than any old flat jaw channellocks. The Knipex Cobras are the version everybody else is striving to copy. They’re about $25-$30 a pair but the jaws are razor sharp and grab anything you need to turn and they should last decades, plus they have the thin jaws which can help with plumbing stuff or other tight fits.

The Pliers Wrench design allows you to put way more pressure holding the nut than you could ever hope for with regular channellocks or adjustable crescent wrenches. And the Cobra-Alligator design bites way better than the flat jaws. Irwin and Milwaukee and other companies have tried to copy this

And just to mention, I currently am using a keysmart lite. (lightweight plastic outer version). I had wanted a key organizer for a while (I only have 4 keys, but I hate them jingling, and going at odd angles in my pocket. This one was on clearance at my local Auto Zone (since I can't see spending 40-50 bucks on a fancy keychain) I really like it, I only use 2 keys regularly, and I organized it so they're easy to get to. Its awkward at first, But nice for my 4 keys, and my car fob

I actually bought it mostly for fishin but started using it for work because of how fast it is to grab. I have it horizontal close to my left pocket with the handle towards my belt buckle. Super easy to grab with my right hand and gets concealed by my shirt.

And battery life, most of the time I have it on the dock. Interesting thing is that speaker must be 5 years old now (maybe more) so I wasn’t sure about the battery life. I took it to the beach with me a couple weeks ago and had it going fairly loud for like 3 or 4 hours and still was at 40% battery. That amazed me with the age, I’m assuming the battery was at least twice as good when new.

I use a locking S-biner..I think #3? to go to my belt
Then a locking #2 S-biner to go to a standard welded ring. Just a plain silver ring that is continuous and will not come apart.

Then each and every accessory gets a small locking S-biner #1/small size whatever.

Keys usually go together on one single #1, flashlight gets its own, RFID keyfob gets its own, knife gets its own, car remote gets its own, etc.

Haven't lost it, anything on it, or had it unintentionally detach one time yet.

it's not about having the right tool for the job, leathermans are literally a tool for doing things right then and there. You will never find a single person on this planet that will say a leatherman is better than its proper tool counterpart, the purpose of leathermans and other multitools is so that you dont have to go back to your toolbox, truck, or shop just for one small thing.

I still like the Wave. If you’re going to carry the bits around too, Wave isn’t that much larger than the Skeletool. It’s maybe the best EDC one for somebody who may want the tiny saw for a drywall cut. I’m mostly opposed to the giant ass ones, I think the Supertool is like that.

My fuckin landscapers show up whenever they want. He does a pretty good job (aside from breaking off a sprinkler head maybe once a month). Talked to the landlord, I think guy is some old family friend, so landlord says “Well you can find whatever landscaper you want and we’ll cut $50/mo off the rent” but any landscaper is going to be at least $100/mo if I want them to come weekly and hit the hedges and stuff while I’m here.

So I said fuck it, dude shows up every 2-3 weeks, he trims up the bushes and stuff when he’s here, so I mow the lawn every other week during the rainy season because it will look like an abandoned house if I let it go for 3 weeks, and then I don’t have to worry about edging or trimming the bushes and that shit.
