inbreeding/linebreeding can work as a tool to concentrate beneficial traits if and purge out harmful mutations from a population but it requires a structured breeding program which has costs, a decent well bred dog is worth the money if you need it the problem is that it's hard for people to pick out the right breeder and do the background checks on pedigree
pedigree collapse is a real problem for small time breeders.
always get the history of both the parents of the dog you're buying and their parents, if possible request to see the parents.
