Yeah, I read a couple of years ago that a lot of places on there are using standard sweatshop labor mass making technically "hand made" goods. I rarely ever visit so do not know the situation first hand, but that kind of shit makes it difficult for legit home cottage creators to compete.

That sort of thing is what killed a lot of small businesses in my area in the 80s. As soon as cheaper and cheaply made items were brought in from Asia countries the businesses couldn't compete at all. It is a bit like how US companies shipped cheap grain to Africa and Mexico which ruined farmers for a couple generations before removing the cheap grain and leaving a generation of people who didn't know how to farm and without cheap food (famine in Africa and tortilla riots in Mexico).
