>>1564864Dude, don't fall for the memes. Permanent overlanders are ether rich retired boomers, or their sons who refuse to work due to fat trust funds in their name. Normal people could afford to saver up for a bit of overlanding, but the they have to quit their jobs to actually go, and it only lasts for few months and they are done for the next X years. You can only do this so many times if you want to have an actual career instead of starting from the bottom every moment. Just think about it, how could you ever just do nothing for a living, but continuously burn fuel and car parts that other have to work for, and will therefore not give them to you for free. Its a hard pill to swallow but overlanding is a distant meme for 99% of people.
There are some lucky people who managed to get really good online jobs so they can work from their car on cell internet. You can try, but you cant really count on it. Van living is another thing. Its a poorfag thing. They don't move the van any more than they have to, so its dirt cheap as they just exist, rather than adventure.
A former friend of mine overlanded on a motorcycle for a year, by blowing 5 years worth of his saving, and quitting a good career, only to come back to reality and a shit job afterwards. He was also lonely most of the time.
