My big first-aid kit is an accumulation of shit I've accidentally left in my scrub pockets throughout the years. After work, I throw whatever's left in my pocket into a ziplock bag next to my washer. When that ziplock bag fills, I throw it into a bigger bag. I organize it every now and then so it's. I'm a nurse working in a hospital but fuck me if I ever have to do stuff out in the field because I wouldn't know how to do jack shit.
Don't remember exactly what's in there, but here's a quick rundown of what I remember:
>Gauze in multiple sizes and gauze rolls, abd pads, whatever bandages found in any first aid kid.
>Ace wraps
>IV starter kits with 16, 18, 20, 22, whatever was left in my pocket gauges.
>Coban because tape is for poor people (but I carry different types of medical tape too)
>Tylenol, motrin, benadryl, stomach meds, caffine pills, more antihistamines, whatever meds are in my medicine cabinet
>Triangle bandages that I have no idea how to use but got from my firefighter family member
>Sani wipes, alcohol swabs, iodine swabsticks, chlorehexidine wipes, whatever fucking wipes I left in my pockets
>The leatherman raptors I never ever use because they're pretty fucking useless in the hospital
>Probably a decent amount of trash including lint, crumpled papers I forgot to place in patient charts, probably a few dollar bills, a candy bar or two
>Cheapo stethoscope
>Suture kit that I have no idea how to use
>Flashlight, batteries, tweezers
>Heat packs, ice packs, lube
>Nitrile gloves, sterile gloves in size 7 because i have baby hands
Here's a pic of those ziplock bags I was talking about
