I did, recently bought a Brazilian cotton for sleeping in- gonna install in the studs, I visit /diy/ a fair bit.

Also recently bought a Blackbird XLC with top cover bug net and gonna order a Superfly tarp and Wookie for Fathers Day. Trying to decide between the 10 degree, the 20 degree and the alpine one, I live in Aus but hike a few mountains once a year or so and until I finish off my tarp and divvy this is my only rig for /out/ings.

I did, DH darien and a warbonnet tarp. UGQ top and under quilt. Only problem is the extra bulk in my bag.

Make sure you get a nice one with a asymmetrical lay line or something to help flatten it out. Double layer with a stiff pad might work.

Other than that Im doing it and it works great. Even have a TV set up on the cieling.

Are you using compression sacks for the quilts? My hammock + under and top quilt take up less room than tent and sleeping back. Slightly more weight though.

Did it for year and a half before dating my gf and did not regret it. It's especially great if you're living in a shit hole studio apartment without air conditioning that you wouldn't bring a girl to even if you had a bed. Hammocks are very cool with a box fan blowing air around you. My hammock is extremely worn-in so I can lay flat in it and even sleep on my side or stomach comfortably.

I feel asleep thinking "this is awesome"
But then I woke up at 2am super uncomfortable and couldn't get back to sleep.
