>>1573476>It seems like most of the "heritage quality" companies are turning into fashion brands.Odds are, unless you're quite old, you hadn't even heard of these brands before the scam started.
Imagine it's say 1998 where no one but granddads wears any of this stuff, they're all wearing athletic apparel and hip hop kind of stuff.
That means a company like Filson or Barbour wasn't getting a huge amount of sales anymore so the moguls bought all those companies (comparatively) cheaply, then they off-shored most of their production, then they engineered the "heritage" trend via media.
Tremendously boosting the sales of those companies and their value until everyone had a wardrobe full of "heritage" and "workwear" at which point companies like "champion" which were big in the 90s are now not doing so well so they buy those, off-shore whatever is left and then start using media to make those big again.
Only this time you start seeing things like "heritage" principles applied so they charge premium prices for sneakers still made in the West.
An annoying thing at this point is a lot of these heritage companies only do the most basic of basic bitch colours for their products except for limited runs that are probably sold out before you heard they were a thing.
If you look at companies like Filson and Swanndri, for instance, they used to have a lot of really nice patterns by default.
