having others work your land the way you want them to is an extremely convenient idea for whoever wants quality products but for whatever (valid or not) reason can't do it themselves
it's also a far better idea than renting your land to the 'cooperative', which is what most old people do with their land when they either have too much of an area/they're too poor to work it themselves (and just keep a small garden next to the house), or are getting too old for farming because their sons and grandparents headed off to the city to shit in ceramic toilets, listen to their neighbors not letting them sleep and shitpost on the mongolian basketweaving forum about how /out/ they actually are
the 'cooperative' gathers land from many people, farms it, and in fall gives you your share of the harvest, the quality of which you have absolutely no control over
paying someone to garden for you would actually revive the depopulated villages and may offer the disadvantaged (though few homeless are actually interested in working) or /out/ists a chance to live/experience such a life
