Owensboro, Lexington, Bowling Green, and Louisville Kentucky. Plenty of jobs, and within a days drive from dozens of nice big parks. 8 hours to the beach from Bowling Green which is the farthest one.

When I lived in SJ i was making 135k before my bonuses kicked in and made enough there to but a 2 1 all cash in downtown Corvallis less than 6 years later. I don't think California is that great, but you want a place that has jobs and has outdoor stuff to do, you are going to probably be looking at the pacific northwest or California.

BTW, California cities are a terrible place to live day to day.

I live in Alaska and make enough money to live more than comfortably, and I have access to real /out/ literally in my backyard. When I travel to California I think that it COULD be a great /out/ place if it had about 39 million less inhabitants. It's just too crowded man.

As I said in a previous post, cities and "very good outdoors" are antithetical, so there is no /out/ city. The more urban a place is, the more crowded everything will be in a 200 mile radius. If you want to live a normal career driven life and live /out/, smaller towns and communities are the best bet. Why anyone would want to live in a city over 50,000 population is beyond reason to me.

If you like mountains and lakes/rives these are probably the top cities that meet the criteria without being havens for faggots i.e. Seattle. Missoula and Boise are close to some of the best easily accessible outdoor activities and are currently booming/jobs. Cannot condone I-5 corridor as it is peak leftist degeneracy and full of dope fiends.

Not that guy but Denver has become very californianized. Its expensive and overflowing with people. That being said its still a really cool city and the surrounding areas are some of the best /out/ areas in the US. I personally wouldn't live there but I visit it once a year.

If you're considering California, my take on the best /out/ 'city' is Sacramento.

The cost of living is still reasonably low there, yet you're situated midway between the north coast and the Sierras - roughly 2 hours to Lake Tahoe with traffic.

The city is also currently going through a bit of a renaissance growth period with lots of opportunity for people starting out, along with the more exciting social scene that comes with the influx of youth.

However, if you truly want the /out/ experience, larger cities ought to be avoided imo.

I live in St Louis. I travel to Dallas for work at least once a month. Dallas is >999x worse traffic than St Louis is.

STL: Can drive from northern edge of the metro to southern edge of the metro in 45 minutes to 2.5 hours depending on rush hour or not

Dallas: Expect driving from one edge of the other to take a minimum of 4 hours even at 3am on a Tuesday. One time it took me 2 hours to get from the airport to the Dallas Children's Hospital, which is less than 1 mile away.

Colorado Springs has a really solid economy right now and is a better /out/ city than Denver. (I've lived in both)
