With the wood shavings, you don't need a separate piss bottle. Finer wood shavings are better than larger ones, if you have a choice. Sawdust works too.

This is bad advice, never let piss touch the shit. It makes things fucking foul. The wood chips help a bit but its much nicer to keep em separated

Never thought i would be bragging about shitting in a bucket, but i spend months every year doing just that.
If you want to puss in your shit bucket, thats fine with me.
Everyone else... trust me, it gets nasty as fuck with just one piss and you had better empty it in a day or two.
Urea starts to react with water as soon as it leaves your body. This is why stale piss smells so much worse that than fresh piss as piss contains both urea and water.
Poo gets progressively less disgusting after it leaves your body provided its not mixed with anything wet. Even after just the very outer layer of a poo dries the smell almost vanishes.
You can poo in a well maintained poo bucket for a month or more if you do it right.
Also if you get the runs its game over for poor poo bucket, it just cant handle the liquid.

I use it in my home, for the past 20 years, and just sawdust or wood chips works perfectly fine for both piss and shit. I have 25 buckets. They get filled up, capped with a lid, and put into storage. Once all 25 are filled, I dump them into an outdoor, hay/straw-lined compost bin with layers of straw/hay between ever so often and a layer of hay/stray on top where they sit for a year. After a year they get used on the fields and in the gardens.

There's no odor inside. This is why you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about because you are doing something vastly incorrect.

That is a very different method that uses way more sawdust.
I am on the method that sailboat people use where you are composting in the bucket , not just desicating it with large amounts of sawdust.
The way i do it, one bucket lasts for months.
