When in your life did you realize that you were an /out/sider? I used to be depressed all the time, but after I started going out and appreciating the sky, wildlife, fresh air and greenery I feel like I found the meaning of life.

Sure. I've always been an outsider I think. When I was a chirren no one could get me back inside. I was out from the bare moments of morning to the pitch of night and by the time I came in I looked like a cambodian. I was tanned like a walnut.

I stopped going outside when I lost half my sight to a parasite but I've always felt the desire to be outside. It's taken me over a decade to finally get out of my shell and it's working slow, but I'm getting there. I'm plating potatoes, have plans to make a garden in the back yard, and want to contribute to the farmer's market once I have produce to sell.

When I got a little cloth play tent for Christmas at 3 years old and immediately insisted on sleeping in it in the back yard. I camped in the yard a lot all the way through my school years, and have lived in a tent in my ex wife's yard for the last 4 years (leaving very soon).

Thank you for your story. How did you lose half your sight to a parasite? Do you mean that you lost one eye or that you can't see very well, even with glasses on? What climate do you live in?

Thanks buddy. Dirt, I think it was. I would roll in it, it would get in my mouth, and the parasite got into my eye. It created a lot of scar tissue on my retina, blocking most of my sight, before it finally died. I couldn't have anything done because no one's sure if it laid eggs, which could've gone to any of my vital organs. I'm near sighted so I can't see well without glasses, but in my left eye it's like a black mass. I have peripheral vision, but not central. I lived in northern illinois at the time.

I always did a bit of /out/ stuff when I was a kid, mostly normal stuff like hiking, camping, occasional geocaching. Later in life I realized that there was way more depth to outdoor shit than I realized, with bushcrafting, hunting, thru-hiking, multi-day wilderness camping, fly fishing, foraging, mushroom hunting, all sorts of crazy stuff I knew nothing about. And in addition, that most people I knew did NO real outdoor stuff at all because they're pansies. I had a choice, stick with the indoor crowd and waste my life with video games and TV, or make outdoor hobbies a major focus of my life. I chose outdoor stuff, never regretted it.

this, i even thought i wasnt meant for /out/ live, refuse to go with my (now ex) gf travel, turns out i dont like the way some people go out, in my country most people are used to go to pollos and things like that, but the day i went trekking i found peace and joy.

I was in the Boy Scouts but I hated it because I disliked having to follow orders. It wasn't till later on where I found myself walking home from work, going through the bushes and taking a nice hour and half long walk and enjoying taking off beaten routes that I noticed that I was quite fond of it (was always quite a walker to begin with but am a city boi). It’s going to be a blog post so sorry bout that. So yeah, ever since I went /out/ I am more positive, with more self-confidence, and actually got actively better in everything. That’s what everybody says anyway.
I entirely grew up in extremely big and important cities because my mother hates peasants and countryside with a passion. She’s a snobbish posh lady, while my boomer dad used to /out/ all the time in his 20s. My mom raised me full time, my dad worked overseas so I was mainly influenced by my mom. Discovered /out/ing last year thanks to my gf who’s really into that and now I love it so much that I am quite proud to say I organize /out/ing better than her now.
The downsides now is that my mom hates her because she hates the idea of seeing me drifting slowly away from city life. I still mainly live in a huge city thanks for the pay (which allows me to /out/ in many different countries) but once I have enough money I will definitely move out from my huge city. My idiot mom also cries and yells at me because she’s furious to see me hiking for days and stay in cabins rather than staying in 5 star hotels in beautiful capital cities. I still do the latter but much, MUCH less since I enjoy /out/ing much more.

not that guy but lsd is one of the safest drugs you can take. I would recommend having someone you trust there with you the first time, but otherwise lsd is the top of psychs imo. Shrooms are fun and feel more natural but its a different experience and is a bit more prone to bad trips than lsd.
