Another coloradobro /p/hotog here.
What kind of vehicle? Car, 4x4, or 2-wheeled?
North, on rabbit ears pass... there's camping opportunities there with some facilities there. I know there's picnic benches and grills there, I've wadded up A-arms on my sled hitting those buried just beneat the snow. Camped there once in the summer a few years ago but it was rather anticlimactic. Not a lot of moto trails there, it's a much nicer place in the winter. There are a fair amount of hiking trails if that's your thing though. Then of course you can keep going north into the Zirkels.
Pic related, from the ears looking northwest along the continental divide.
Around town ... rampart area, pretty awesome. Tons of campsites along the road, go about 10mi south on RRR to get away from the quadtard traffic. Once you go past the hairpin turn and the radio towers you're pretty well clear of the OHV area, and you can hike up to the fire lookout (about 2mi from the trailhead). I need to get up there with my Nikon one of these full-moon nights.
Central City/Blackhawk ... good moto trails, and there's a lot of FS land to camp on. Most of the drug activity I've ridden by has been in this area, don't know that I'd really want to camp out up there because of that.
Moody hill, johnny park ... big 4x4 trails of varying difficulty, some singletrack, some hiking trails. Check MVUM's, much like BH/CC there's a lot of private property mingled in with the NF land.
Or if you're up that way, there's estes park/RMNP.
The 14'ers for the most part have hiking trails.
