with traditional i do not mean them as waypoints (while that obviously is a valid argument), theres something on wikipedia about it, just look it up. some scandinavian stuff or so.
i dont think cairns are inherently a bad thing, theyre a bit like a summit book, something that gives you a feeling of accomplishment.
again, en masse and just for fun or whatever theyre not that nice, but other than that.
even if they were that bad of a thing, why does anyone bother to really hate them? it just seems kinda unnecessary to me.
