Pardon my ignorance as I'm mainly from other boards, but have any international meetups been organized within this community?

I have a deep longing to go on full-blown expeditions to unorthodox destinations but lack a social group that'd be down for it.

OP here. The problem is that I need "retards" to act as support for my more stupid ideas. I know I could use the friend feature of Bumble for more local trips- but I need a way to find people dumb enough to go through Guyanese Amazon with me. My big life goal though is to backpack the Sahara and maybe chill with Tuareg rebels.

I go /out/ to get away from people. I will drive 80 miles to the WMA/Forestry zone just to guarantee I don't have to deal with loud groups of hikers, boomers, or rangers. Mountains are comfy.

I'd be retarded enough. Every time I go trekking with friends, I'm the one who wants to do 15 miles a day with 1000m up/down. I usually find that people around d me aren't ready enough to exhaust themselves and do stupid/crazy stuff.

I set off /out/ solo 99.9% of the time. I either get the peace and quiet I need or meet people who are into the same thing, creating a social circle for future trips.
If you want to go out don't let a lack of people stop you.
