Why does the state of Washington have no high elevation communities? Look at every surrounding state and then look at Washington's pathetic 2600 feet Waterville. Does the state not have any money or what? And why are the roads open for only 4 months out of the year? What kind of nonsense is that?

Washington’s topography is primarily a result of glacial movement rather than plate tectonics like what you see in the surrounding states. The only exception being rainier, which has paradise at 5400 ft. This is why you will see the same boring low elevation mountains extend all the way up the BC coast. It’s all just carved out by glaciers and these are not very buildable. They aren’t progressive plateaus; they are comparatively small and quite vertical. This is the same reason there’s no mountain roads in WA and every highway is ran through a valley

Different geography and wetter climate on average are probably two factors. There are very few high elevation plateaus in WA compared to say the southwest, where you can have plateaus ranging from 1500m-2500m asl interspersed with some 3000m-4000m peaks. I imagine a community at 9,000ft (2700m) in WA would be snowed in for over half the year or at least much longer than compared to one in NM or AZ at the same elevation near a high plateau, even then communities there are snowed in for 4-5 months out of the year, have freezing or near freezing nights for 6 months out of the year, and experience frequent road closures and transportation issues in winter.

Eastern Washington is not high elevation, the highest point of Eastern Washington is 2230m bordering Idaho and Canada. The semi-arid region is of even lower elevation. OP is wondering why there is no high elevation communities in WA, given that literally every western US state minus Oregon, Alaska, and Washington have communities that are higher than 2000m, some 3000m. Also even in a semi-arid climate you still get snowed in at high elevation, Leadville (3090m - 10,150 ft) gets around 12 inches of rain a year and almost all of it falls as some 140 inches worth of snow in winter.
