Ok so a buddy of mine and I are going backpacking thru some back country this weekend for the first time for either of us in the desert. The forecast actually looks to be somewhat decent this weekend - high 80s vs 100-110 - but again I've never done something like this out into the desert/mostly arid environment. There's plenty of creeks and springs from which to get water, really just wondering if anyone can help me with some of the "unknown unknowns" and what to watch out for.
