Hey /out/ I'm home for summer vacation. I've applied to multiple jobs and never received a reply back. Instead of spending my whole summer moping and idly waiting I've decided I'd like to go on a very long bike trip. I live in NYC and would like to ride from here to Philadelphia. I will probably only have 40 dollars, if (when) I run out I can definitely steal some food (I'm fully aware of the repercussions). My question is how do people travel to other states on bikes if they cant use the highway? And what are some MUSTS for going on long bike trips?

p.s. I have a fixed gear bike, obviously not the greatest choice for traveling long distances but that's what i have so I'd only be able to carry what would fit in a book bag.
