Owen's Peak Wilderness up by Ridgecrest is a great place to wander the trails.

I adore San Bernardino National Forest. There's a ~20 mile loop that goes up Mt San Jacinto that's amazing. Here's a pic I took on that hike.

It's a short hike but I really enjoyed the Eagle Rock trail down in San Diego/Carlsbad area. Ask me why they call it eagle rock

That's quite the hike, I've been wanting to do the Cactus to Clouds hike on the other side for a while. My cousin wanted to do it with me but we just haven't gotten around to it.
It's funny, I've driven past Ridgecrest so many times going up to the Mammoth area but never stopped in the southern Sierras.
I'm in Newport Beach

only one i've ever done near l.a. is icehouse canyon to timber mountain. it was pretty cool. but goddamn there were a lot of retards out. it was over 100° at the trailhead when we got back to our car around 2 pm, and there were people heading up the trail with just a little 500ml bottle of water. a ranger got posted about 2 miles in to turn around all the fucking morons because half a dozen people had to get helped out.

i live in the san gabriel valley so i mostly hike the angeles NF.

in the Angeles NF
>Bridge to Nowhere
>Mt. Baldy
>Mt. Wilson
>Switzer Falls/Bear Canyon
>El Prieto/Brown Mountain road
and the normie/Insta tier hikes:
>Eaton Canyon
>Monrovia Canyon
>Sturtevant Falls/Hermit falls

Sometimes I go out to Malibu/Santa Monica mountains for normie hikes:

>Escondido Falls
>Solstice Canyon/Rising Sun trail

There's 1 O.C. hike I've been wanting to do: Black Star Canyon trail.

I go up to Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Seqouia, Los Padres, Big Sur, and Joshua Tree year round, but most of my hikes are local because I'm a wagecuck ;__;

Holy Jim canyon has some spots that are essentially just creeks that lead uphill for longer than I've ever been willing to hike. Easily a 4 hour uphill climb. Great views and waterfalls though.
