Typically you would set up a giant Arrow on the road or a parking lot, and then at the tip, get a GPS shot (coordinates) on it, so when the pretty drone takes pictures, some even scanning the ground, they can align the pictures and elevations from the drone, with the gps, ensuring you get good accurate results.
