Longtime lurker first time poster. I need some advice please. The short of it is, I have become afraid of camping due to conditioning by military experiences. How can I feel safe in the woods again? I don't think I can camp without having a posted guard again in my life. I simply can't fathom sleeping being exposed without weapons and men keeping watch.

I just want to camp without fear again like I did as a child. Thanks for considering, thanks for advice. Please also use this thread for others who have similar issues/questions. Take it easy
