I haven't been since I was 12, and it is hard to kill something that you respect and cherish, but it brings you closer to the land and reminds you that humans are part of nature, which is something we tend to forget. Also, OP, in Maine we used to drive around in the logging roads until you spot a moose in a swamp or on the shores of a lake, then you'd attempt to make a stalk around through the woods to get within shooting range, ideally 50-75 yards. Only make good clean shots broadside on and have another Hunter ready with a backup shot. Use the biggest caliber you can comfortably shoot.
