I'm from Alberta. Only visited Montana once so idk how much I could tell you aside from the obvious stuff like to avoid tourist spots and any major urban centers. I hear jobs can be hard to come by too but that really depends what field you're in.

The interior has winters where the average high never climbs above 0C for 5-6 months. The coastal areas are tempered by chinook winds and temperature inversions. Ironically, the interior also gets the hottest temps as well. Pic and data related are AK state averages, Fairbanks, Glennallen, and Utqiagvik. Still not as bad as Yakutsk and Siberia though, Norilisk already has snow.

It's below freezing from october through april in all of the northern states as well retard. Saranac Lake NY routinely hits 40 below every january/february.

There is a difference between record lows and average lows. The east is cold af, yes, I am not denying this, nor am I making it a contest. I am pointing out the shortsightedness of your post, since some people can't see things beyond their tiny perception of the world. My point is that Alaska has a massive difference in climate, Just because Anchorage is warmer than some spots in the lower 48 does not mean that those areas are colder than AK as a whole. Interior AK and western interior Canada are routinely colder on average than any spot in the lower 48. -40f is the average low in some places.

For clarification, I am an American born and raised, I don't live in Alaska nor have I pretended to in my post. And I know and use both metric and imperial, though I actually prefer metric 2bh. I try to keep my posts impartial and as informative as possible based on factual info and data. I don't understand the irrational anger but I hope you have a nice day regardless.

If I wanted to turn it into a contest I would have assembled the coldest averages of interior AK side by side with the coldest averages of the upper midwest and northeast. Which I have no intention of doing. And your point could have been made without misrepresentation of climate in AK. My guess is OP is from the UK, and if so he'd have to deal with both heat and cold regardless of where he went in the US lol. Anyway, hope you have a nice day anon.

I want to live somewhere with mountains, an ocean, relatively warm climate or at least not a fucking brutal 7-9 month winter, and no blacks/urban scum etc. this doesn't exist in the continental US, so you have to drop a few things off the list in order to make it works
