I lived in Japan for 10 years, at first I was dubious and thought it was gay (because that's what western culture teaches us; bath houses = gay meet'n'fuck clubs) but once you take the Onsen Pill you realize it's a normal chill place to hang out after a hard day's work. Salarymen talking politics and business, teenagers hanging out after sports club practice, dad bonding with his kids, old guy healing his aching bones, mates sipping some beers and hanging out. It's fucking great.
Buddy of mine lived in a town that was so geothermally active that all the houses in town didn't have bathrooms in them. It was quicker, cheaper and easier to just walk across the street to any of the hundreds of local bath houses and bathe there instead of doing it in your own house.
When I was in Canada nude beaches were great. Average age was 18~40-something. Only the occasional old or fat person. Decent ratio of girls to guys. Everyone smoking weed n hanging out, stealthily sipping some beers. Good times.
