How safe is 0.01 microns filtration for consumption?

I'm thinking about getting one of these pumps for a 25ish day kayak trip on the Mississippi but i just don't know how effective these really are in waters have tons of run off.

I normally use iodine tablets to filter water because they kill everything as opposed to 99.999% safe of these higher end pumps but that'll be like $60 in tablets not to mention the iodine taste left over even with the neutralization tablets plus iodine isn't exactly something you should ingest long term.
