How do you deal with bad sight? I'm near sighted with astigmatism and glasses have always been a nuisance, but I don't have other choices

Contacts. Lasik wouldn't work well enough on me to justify the cost and risk because my astigmatism is too bad (I'd still need corrective lenses).

A decade later I still see fine up close but I kinda struggle to read far away and in low luminosity situations. Still too much of a pussy to go get checked.

Buy a decent pair of plastic lens glasses, preferably with a strap. Uvex makes some nice ones but there are plenty of others on the market now.

If your sight is worse than -5, I wouldn't consider LASIK. You know those 1% of people who got LASIK and now have permanently dry eyes / vision problems? Their eyesight was -6 to -8 range.

OP you need to break into peoples cabins and try on all the glasses you find there.
At some point you will get lucky and find something close to your prescription.

Slower recovery for PRK but much safer, there's no risk from impacts like with Lasik. Also, all the SEALs use it because it's safer for diving.

I guess lasik is still coarse enough that if you have good eyesight it could fuck it up slightly, and that lasik is reserved for those with really fucked eyes

Tbh I went full retard and use a flip up rear sight with dots. The starburst works fine for 50-100 yards for me but any further I flip up the sight and presto it’s a pin point dot
