Going to Mississippi in about a week to visit family, are there any good places to backpack or hike in and chill for a couple nights? I haven't been camping in too long but I'd also prefer not to car camp

If you're in the north part of the state near the Tupelo/Bay Springs Lake area you can find some good camping up there too. The Natchez Trace is always worth checking out. It runs from Nashville to Natchez and has lots of good camping. There are Indian mounds and old homesteads, natural springs and little waterfalls, lots to see.
