>>1614291>can you live as a genuine nomadSure, but it's a shitty and hard life so nobody does it. And you need a lot of land you can roam and gather food from depending on the season. I don't think there are many areas that aren't tainted by civilization and annoying laws against vagabonding, trespassing and poaching.
If we are talking about mild climate then there are many highly available food sources like beechnuts, acorns, hazelnuts, mountain ash berries, blackberries, birch and maple sap. Most of those take some processing to be properly digestible in large amounts. But it certainly takes no witchcraft. Also there are edible greens like Dandelion leaves, Stinging nettles (the seeds are especially valuable) and Miner’s Lettuce which you will find more of than you could ever eat.
Storing food for winter is the hard part. Some meat source is recommended. You can store meat and fish for a pretty long time if it is cold enough. So you should have some hut in the mountains or far north where you can wait for the winter to pass while chewing on stored meat. Salting food also works, but then you obviously need large amounts of salt.
It might be easier to just learn how to farm, buy some land in bumfuck nowhere with a clean water source, build a proper hut and bring a large amount of dry-packaged vermin secure parboiled rice for bad times, and then live there permanently. It's easier than being a nomad.
