My wife and I are planning on moving somewhere in the Northwestern US to start a sheep ranch and homestead. We're looking for an aspen woodland type setting, yet with pasture possibilities.

Which state would you choose and why?

Montana. I'm moving there in a few years. Going to live in the mountains. No reason why Montana specifically, it's just big I guess. Plus it's an ethnostate, and just seems nice.

There are significant amount of Mexicans in Montana now, mostly spillover from the Dakota oil industry or skilled trades peeps, but the types of Mexicans who actually want to move to Montana are pretty "White acting" truth be told.

Oregon has a metric shit ton of land for sale and so does Washington.
If you plan on drilling your own well and don't need to be connected to the power grid, then go for either of those two.

Superior coastline is actually really cheap considering you can be on the largest freshwater lake by land area in the world. (Baikal is deeper but a smaller footprint). The surrounding area is dirt cheap as well since it's so underdeveloped.

South Americans too. The ranchers are importing them literally by the plane-full to manage the herds of cows and sheep. The guy whose ranch I hunt on likes employing Chileans because they have an actual work ethic and will work for comparatively cheap, and are easy to get into the US legally.
