Afternoon /out. I've done my research and everything says "it's possible but larger is more comfortable"
But what are the realistic capabilities of sailing a 30' sailboat transatlantic.
It would be me, wife and one kid, sailing from NY to Italy. I've made the transatlantic trip 4 times on cargo ships, and we've both sailed. I just fear that it will either be a miserable experience, or catastrophic. There's a huge difference between a 600 ft cargo vessel and a 30 foot sail boat. If not, what's a reasonable sized sail boat that won't break the bank to buy and pilot trans Atlantic.
Pic related, the type I'd be looking to buy.
