Nepal is great.
There a lot of opportunities for mountaineering, trekking and hiking in the mountains. Some of the highest mountains in the world, breathtaking views. At the same time the country is essentially in the sub-tropics, so there are national parks in the south with elephants, tigers and crocs. Locals are usually nice to tourists, because they understand that we are walking moneybags, and treating us poorly means decreased income.
Other than /out/ activities, there is plenty to do and see. Nice food, interesting architecture, temples.
The prices have been rising steadily for tourists because of the amount of visitors from wealthy countries. I'm from an eastern European country, and prices for food were comparable to what I pay back home. There was a street fruit vendor that offered me apples that were more expensive than I what I would pay back home.
Another huge issue is trash. It's pretty bad in the cities. I've seen excavation of a river in Katmandu, they were probably making it deeper. The soil was thoroughly mixed with trash. A pretty big lake in a different city - a corner of it completely covered in floating trash. Some places in the mountains even had mini-dumps.
Getting anywhere across country means traveling on a car/bus/jeep with terrible emissions on a very very dusty road, with most of the time spent stuck in traffic. You haven't been in a traffic jam until you are stuck between horn-blaring trucks and buses on a serpentine one-lane mountain road with a sheer drop on one side and a cliff face on the other.
10\10 would recommend.
