These things used to work great and now they suck.
I bet its because of some gay environmental bullshit .

this. i keeps matches around, but i usually have a few bic lighters in multiple places, so i never have to worry about anything breaking or running out of fire

Dude. It doesn’t.
They are meant to strike on any surface. In reality they don’t actually strike on any surface, but the idea is that they strike on most rough surfaces.
If strike anywhere means any environment, then the matches without the white tip would be strike anywhere too because the only difference between them is that the white tip allows them to strike on surfaces other than the striking pad.

I don't know about that, they worked fine for me at 10,064 feet (mt san antonio in picture). They also worked fine at 14,252 feet (white mountain).

You can buy "cowboy matches" in Poland that are strike-anywhere, I bought a few for lulz and yea, they work on any solid surface. Kinda cringe though.

Red phosphorus strike anywhere matches were costing companies a lot of money due to the hazardous materials transportation fees. It's the main reason why we don't see them anymore. They were spending more money then they were making.

White tips aren’t gone at all I have a ton of them.
Uca I think? The guys who make Walmart lifeboat matches I got some ordered before they stopped making them.
But diamond green tip with a white dollop on the end is still made.

They both suck as far as trucks go
Such as lighting them with your teeth or finger nail
But any rough surface will strike both

My uncle is one of those "have multiple diffirent ways to start a fire" guys, he never spends any time out. It took some explaining for him to understand that 3 bics was more usefull and practical than having 1 bic, 1 fire steel, 1 book of matches, and a magnifying glass.
