Same idea as you OP. But it ain't easy.
Can be done but you need to know in their entirety:
Water -
Source, purification, Storage, Usage
Food - Animals
Trapping, hunting, cleaning, usage, preserving, conservation, disease
Food - Plants
Edible, non edible, preparation, seasonal availability, nutrition, animals getting there first, cultivation, preservation
Fire -
Using tools, without tools, using wet materials, types of fire, safety
Shelter -
Where to shelter, how to shelter, building
First aid -
not fucking dying
Navigation -
And that is a fucking shit list of obvious skills.
IT IS NOT EASY. IT TAKES EXPERIENCE.
Do you know how many times I've nearly cut myself out in the bush? One too many is too many.
Roll an ankle? Fell down slopes navigating?
Orienting camp wrong, sleeping under trees during storms? Not having enough firewood to last the night? Not being able to get a fire started. Not being able to find water easily. Not being able to navigate efficiently. Staying dry. Staying cool.
tl;dr
Spend three years and a thousand hours getting your skills up to a good level. 1000 will get you enough to not die as easy. And depending where you are...no bets.
