>>1620340>You need a good mat, even better is two mats. One ccf to put on or under an approriately rated inflatable mat, a good sleeping bag, and to eat the right thigs before bedthis is the most important.
You generally need an R value of at least 5 for winter, but the nice part is that it adds up, so you can stck a zlite (R = 2.6) with an inflatable pad (R = ~4) to get a nice combined sleeping pad. Some people say when you combine them it's better to put the CCF on top of the inflatable so it distributes the pressure and does not compress the insulation as much, but I normally put my zlite below since I use it as a sitting pad in the snow and don't want the melted snow to soak my sleeping bag
>>1620333>Is there any way to counteract the cold and especially the wetness? The other thing is get a good sleeping bag, and properly ventilate your tent. Your breath will condense as your sleeping since the air temperature drops over night, and this is even more important in winter since if your sleeping bag gets soaked on a multi-day trip you're screwed.
>>1620403you can look into vapor barriers for winter camping, some people swear by them though it might be a bit uncomfortable to get used to at first.
>>1620573get a 0F/-16C bag, they aren't too bad. You can wear extra clothing, but that will only stretch your current sleeping bag to the "lower limit" temperatures
