Evening, I've done 5 different meals so far:
- couscous, sliced salami and roasted onions
- "Risotto" from minute rice, dried mushroom, bouillon cube, freeze-dried parmesan
- green lentils, regular rice, and canned meat
- "Italian" "pasta" dish from ramen, freeze-dried Parmesan, and sun dried tomatoes
- mini salamis and powdered mashed potatoes
- minute rice and onions curls
The lentils and rice took 20 minutes to cook, and the canned meat weighs a ton. Only for car camping or short treks.
The rest have been pretty OK. I really enjoy experimenting and cooking. I try to go with stuff I find in regular shops, without having to buy freeze-dried chicken strips online and whatnot.
I have high hopes for minute rice and onions curls - just add some kind of sauce, and you have a coconut curry, or sweet and sour, or lemon, or Italian...
