I just moved out onto my buddies farm. I grew up riding pic related as a kid. I need something to mob around 150 acres to round up nigger cattle and such. What's affordable and reliable? Would it be fucking dumb if I bought an old honda because I'm a nostalgia fag?

Sorry, yes. I had op pic, the Big Red. The 3 wheelers are like Garands and 1911s, perfectly fine... dated and obsolete technology. Quads, over 500 cc with EFI are where it's at. Not the UTEs, they're

That said, you can't go wrong with a Honda. The Yamaha Grizzly (iirc) has 4WD w/locking front diff and IRS. So, not bad. Honda Rubicons, Ranchers g2g. My best bike is the 700R Raptor, the one I ride the most is the 650 Can Am Outlander... Like a Caddy!

Get a three wheeler. I have 5 and they run forever. Make sure its shaft drive and 200 cc or the 250cc. Maybe you'll get lucky and find the elusive atc 250r. 300 fourtrax and 500 hondamatic is okay too.

The reason three wheelers are obsolete is they are death traps. You'll be ok if the place is fairly flat I guess, but heading downhills they are too easy to flip, if you hit a bump and your front wheel is jerked to the side there's nothing on the ground to the right or left to stop it tipping. Quads still have the problem to some extent, if your bars are jerked to the side there's not much of a wheelbase to stop it tipping. Most modern bikes use a CVT so you can get on and off all day without fucking around with gears.

Side by side UTV is where it's at now, much safer and compartments everywhere to carry gear. I used a quad on 1000 hilly acres (kingquad 500) but got pic related and wouldn't go back. The only problem is when you get stuck climbing a hill you can't get out and manhandle it and you can't see shit to the rear to reverse down. But they aren't cheap, maybe overkill for a smaller place. We just trade up when the warranty runs out so we aren't fucking about with broken vehicles and down time, and it's easy to track the costs.

If you're mostly just doing stock work maybe just get a two wheeler?

I took corners on 2 wheels like a PIMP when I was like fucking 10 dude. I'm not afraid of three wheelers. It's over-protective faggots that ruined it for everyone. Bunch of pussies.

Ever had a 500cc trike roll over into you? 0/10 would not recommend. Trikes aren’t made anymore because quads cost the same and are more stable.

Boomer detected. The PROBLEM with utes, aside from being outrageously overpriced go carts, is you don't "ride" them, you ride in them. No body english required or permitted. Less fun by far, unless you want to ride from your motorhome to Walmart. That and you can buy a used Suzuki Samurai for less and get 4wd.

Fun? It's a work vehicle. I've got a 200L sprayer on the back and all the compartments full of fencing gear, spare water line connections and shit. Can't carry all this shit on a quad. Still, it is pretty fun to drive imo. Goes anywhere and gets around faster and more stable.
