Here's my plan for the ultimate /out/ homestead/commune:

Description: We start a sustainable homestead, with solar and wind power for 100% off the grid electricity to support indefinite shitposting. Tend the most sustainable crops only to make use of minimal hectares. Keep some animals, such as chickens, and dairy cows. Hunt/Scavenge/Fish as supplementary.

Food: Farming on minimal hectares, raising small and sustainable animals with hunting, fishing, and scavenging for additional food gathering.

Electricity: Large solar/wind system to support a reasonable amount of electricity

Location: Montana - remote, land is cheap, and good for all four aforementioned food sources

Bonus: Recruit fellow armed /k/ and /out/ browsers for firearm purposes

Goal: Create a remote /out/ safe haven for all /scouts/ in need of one during the coming boogaloo

Bring your wifes/gfs/families so it's not gay (a la /fit/)

See pic related. Anyone up for it? Say 20 people chipped in a few thousand to buy land and starting materials, it would be technically feasible.

Require interviews, maybe. Or knowledge of a skill/trade. Willing to put up money is one thing, but being able to contribute to a single homestead or a commune of several homesteads is another thing.

You'd definitely want skilled people - actual hunters, farmers, sustainability engineers, and people with bushcraft and building skills as well. Not larpers, that's for sure.

I have a similar desire, but to build a chapel in the woods, or just to puchase a huge chunk of land, plant trees and there place a chapel. Invite a priest to consecrate it and reserve for the agricultural community for worship.

OP you have come to the right place. /out/ has been trying to get a MGTOW commune together for years but our board is just too small.
We even have a large some of funds pledged for this community if just a few anons put in the legwork to find a property and do some organizing.
If you truly have the support of enough people at /fit/, we can probably make this happen.
The money is just sitting in an account doing nothing.

Don't listen to the detractors OP, this is a cool idea and I've wanted to do something similar for almost my entire life.

From most of what I've read, it seems like you've got the right ideas. I think the crowdfunding/money pooling idea would work the best, because a lot of homesteads run into trouble during the first few years. They typically struggle to slowly get established and obtain all the tools and supplies they need. Having the majority of the money up front would be ideal, as you'd bypass the scrimping and saving stage.

I think they first step would be to form some sort of dedicated discussion forum for the project, perhaps a Discord or something of the like. This way you could iron out the details, and get more ideas and supporters. Next you should find a core group to become the leaders to actually head up the project.

It's true, cities are very toxic environments save for a few in Scandinavia. Most are dumps unless you make a decent amount of money, especially here in the US. I hope personally I can find a lifestyle that doesn't require city living, or commuting to one. Urbanites seem to attack everything - they sway the vote of every state with a major city to blue, they vote to take away freedoms that they themselves do not understand (Such as the right to bear arms.) They vote to raise taxes astronomically to force ineffective environmental policy instead of living sustainably on their own. And worst of all, Democrats steal land through eminent domain claims in the name of public works, as well as Republicans. Sometimes I wish I could get away from it all. Maybe it's high time for an /out/ homestead.

I'm a web developer in my spare time, though. If this takes off, I'd be happy to set up a basic website detailing as much as possible about the homestead, its purpose, and whatnot. the /fit/ thread mentions how it could be an organisation promoting good fitness and shit in educational institutions.
