>>1629188>first down bagNice, down is so nice. Just be diligent about keeping your bag dry. But don't stress yourself. When I first got a down bag I was so anxious about keeping it dry that it would really weigh on my mind. But after a while I realised that a down bag can get pretty damp and still work ok. You just have to think about ways to control condensation in your shelter as much as possible, read about camp site selection if you are unsure. And take every chance you get while /out/ to air your gear. Laying you bag out in the sun for 30 mins can make all the difference.
>What do bag do you have?I have a couple.
>Western Mountaineering Astralight Rated for ~25F. This is my main bag. It's amazing. It was expensive but worth it.
>MLD FKT quiltThis is an interesting quilt as it's synthetic and the bottom half has more insultaion than the top half. The idea is that you'll be carrying a puffy so weight can be saved on the top portion of the quilt. The bottom is rated to like 38F and the top 48F.
>Cumulus magic 125This is a really light summer bag, rated for like 50F. I have it to pair with my Western Mountaineering quilt for winter camping.
Sorry about the ratings being in F. I've spent a lot time hiking in the US and talking to americans about gear that it's just the unit I use now.
