Where do I meet friends to do /out/ stuff? All my current friends are degenerates who don't do anything apart from drinking/partying. If I had a girlfriend I could do stuff with her but I don't have one either. Where I live isn't good for /out/ (Buffalo) but I am hoping to eventually move. Where can I meet new friends with similar interests in the outdoors? Where can I meet a girl that isn't afraid of the outdoors?

Best bet is MeetUp.com, but it’s pretty hit or miss. A ton of people join groups because it sounds like a fun thing to do but they never actually show up for outings. Still, you can meet people that way. I ran a group for a while and met some hiking friends, but it became more about people wrangling than hiking.

Facebook as well, just watch what personal details you submit.

Fellow Western New Yorker here. I work in Buffalo 5-6 days a week and have explored pretty much everywhere in the region.

Your best bet is to just get out there. You'll eventually run into someone or a group of people who will chat you up about hiking, fishing, hunting, wildlife, photography, and other outdoor activities. Those are the types of people that you could start doing shit with.

I prefer going solo for most of my /out/ings and am not exactly a social butterfly (aside from briefly saying "hey" to people I come across) and still managed to have some lengthy and interesting conversations about fishing, hunting, and wildlife photography in recent weeks. So for someone like you who's actively seeking people to become friends with, you shouldn't have a problem if you put yourself out there enough.

I met my /out/ gf on boomble so you could try that. As for my friends I studied marine biology so that was pretty easy. My non marine science friends still go /out/ with me, I just have to bring some pot to bait them

Go to snowboarding and ski slopes and talk to people. Chances are you won't be the only person there and most folks on slopes are chill. You'll probably be able to exchange contact info and make some friends. It's seriously not hard. You can also look up clubs in your area and join.
