Doesn't have to be something absolutely outstanding but just something you're proud of or has a good memory for you while /out.

That's up near Mitchelstown, by the look of it? Definitely not the furthest West, there are a to ton of peaks in the Reeks in Kerry. Even in Cork you have Hungry Hill which is further west.

Getting soaked is very much part of hiking in Ireland though, you need serious rain gear and waterproof boots.

Glad you had fun anyway

I'm from Dublin myself, spend my summers in Cork, from what I've found online it's the furthest west mountain in Ireland, it's out past Dingle next to Bantry.

Drinking fresh mountain snow melt this june in Glacier. My friend and I cycled up the west end of Going to the Sun road, saw a bear and double rainbow at Logan's Pass. The ride down was unspeakably scenic high speed thrill. We missed the shuttle at avalanche creek and had to get our rental bikes back to Apgar. Made it by 10 minutes. stumbled deliriously nto the diner there and paid $30 for a cheeseburger and milkshake and it was worth every God blessed penny. 64 miles round-trip not counting the 3 we hiked in from the Quartz lake back country that morning.

You packed an incredible journey into one paragraph. Half of my 2 week honeymoon in 04 was at Glacier (first half was Yellowstone, where we'd lived in 98/99). A touring bicycle is essentially my home, now, and through putting your post and what I remember together I can almost see/feel what you've described. I can't imagine the $30 burger and shake though, and I'm like Han Solo in that regard.

Driving in a 12 deep convoy up Engineer Pass and lining up for a picture as a storm rolled in was incredible. We had a four hour rest after driving into Durango from DFW before we went out there. Had a few difficult moments - especially elephant passing another, descending group of Jeeps on a narrow cliffside about a thousand feet from the peak. It wasn't an especially hard trail, but it was a learning experience for some.

It was just an incredible trip with incredible people. Being up there with a full panoramic view of the ranges and good friends was priceless. I wouldn't trade that memory for anything.

She was getting weak in the knees a d kept trying to tapout, but I was balls deep in that butt slut and bustin' nut! I pulled out, a quick wipe actoss her hot ass and a 505s zip later and I'm presentable, so I mosey around the tree and greet our new visitors while she's freakig tring to keep her shit from falling out and straighten her dress! They were a bit more surprised when she presented herself, but I quaintly grabbed her hand and said, "Let's get back, honey.". Riding the tram down, it was easy to make this backdoor whore blush just by talking about doing it again and looking at the bark impressions in her pink forearms!

Memorable.

Thanks man. I am usually pretty frugal but my body was screaming for sustenance after surviving on only clif bars the entire day. Had to have it.
Living in yellowstone sounds pretty rad, how did you manage that?

I understand the craving sustenance, I just spent two weeks in a national forest and spent $9 on a cheeseburger and fries, but it was 1/2 lb in a remote grill and store, I can't imagine anyone having the gall to even charge $30, much less have enough people taking them up on it to sustain it. Was there anything special about it? As for Yellowstone, I just worked various seasonal jobs (snowmobile rental, room cleaning, IMAX usher, short order cook) and rented a mounted camper in a small RV park.

Shit, it's been 20 years now, but all I did was go to places and put in applications. The snowmobile rental and two motels were owned by a family. I was the fellow who outfitted everyone on snowmobile tours with suits, gloves, helmets, and boots each morning, then went over and shoveled snow/cleaned rooms at one of the motels (usually one, sometime the other). IMAX and Running Bear Pancake House were the same, just went in and applied. The thing about these kinds of tourism oriented places, they tend to be used to transient workers and it was always easy to find someone needing help (was the same on San Juan Island where I lived after Yellowstone). The town (West Yellowstone) essentially mostly closed down for a few weeks twice a year, during the transitions to and from snow. Back then standard pay was $8, and my camper was $400 a month including all utilities. Like I say though, 20 years ago, no idea what's the same/changed since. Pic related is the Winter view out my camper door, the landlord plowed a trail to it every morning.
