I know of an abandoned public school near the Blue Mountains, hasn't been used in 10 years, almost entirely overgrown with weeds, but otherwise in pristine condition.
However it's the sort of place to tell in person about, as on Internets genuine explorers are outnumbered 5:1 by vandalizing cunts.

There are a few areas you can go to;
St James station has some old platforms that if you can get in without tripping the detectors are good.
There is an abandoned explosives shed at Bantry Bay but I don't know if you can get into it.
The gun placements at Middle Head are cool, so I've been told.
There is a tram station near Sutherland with some alright stuff in too.
There is an old Dunlop/Slazenger factory, but I'm told that it's got security now.
White Bay power station is only an option if you want to die, as it's full of asbestos and there's security.

Nightmare mode: the old asylum in Rozelle.

If your a novice then you can just follow waterways near the CBD and you should find some tunnels.
Obvious is obvious but you shouldn't go tunneling until summer or until there has been at very least a week free of any rain.

I own a few vacant lots and I can personally tell you no one wants you there. I've had a few incidences where "urban explorers" have injured themselves while on one of my lots and have tried to file claims against Me for not making it hard enough for their dumbass to get in. They never win, but it still cost Me money and time when I have to deal with lawyers and insurance.
If you want to explore do it on gov owned land and stay the hell away from private property.

I've always wanted to to La Rundel, not sure how much of that is still remaining. I've done an old factory that's now apartments and an old meatworks. I'm almost certain there are many more spots in Melbourne, it's just hard to tell which ones are actually abandoned and which ones are meth labs.
