I am in Alaska, took this pic today, (will post to /p/ for exif) and I'm not sure if you can tell but I'm on a slope. So I'm about 2000 feet up on the side of a steep mountain... satellite don't work here bra.

I've read "size of a pizza box" phased array type antenna tossed around a few times. I suppose it will all depend on how much power you pour into it as to how large they will need to be. I think 3'x3' would suffice. Basically, a flat antenna instead of a dish and it can go in places like on the roof of a vehicle.

It’s going to ruin it. Go to a state or national park camping ground. It was claimed that the reason outdoors companies have so much stuff oriented towards fashion that get co-opted by normies is not because legit /out/ people aren't an active enough consumer base, it's that we're just vastly outnumbered. But those normies buying the fashion items subsidize the companies who *also* make legit /out/ stuff which we *do* actively buy.

There are so many places that were deserted 10 years ago that these days you see most spots taken come summer because of social media. There's these lakes I used to love to go to three hours down a dirt turn off a mountain road that some ass make a video of on one of those hipster travel channels a few years ago and now it gets down right packed.
