>>1663567Niether of those women are fat.
>>1663825My girlfriend has a joke, we get 30mpg on the highway, 1mpg in the city.
So we get around 17
It's a 318, I've done a lot of work to it, rejetted the carb, rebuilt the carb, cleaned the intake header, EPA delete.
These dodge motors are bullet proof. I had to change an alternator The original one shit out after 30+ years, surprised it lasted that long.
I haven't had any other issues besides the alt on the road. I have a spare water pump with me incase mine fails (it weeps slightly) but I doubt I'll have to replace it before I make it to PNW.
It's like driving a cloud, I replaced the steering gear, and ball joints before I embarked (huge cunt of a job) but it's still a bit wobbly, which you get used to pretty quickly. I'm sure once I replace the wheel bearings it will improve, but I'm in no rush to do so.
Just carry some SAE wrenches, check your fluids, and get a Haynes manual, you'll be all set.
These V8's are the easiest platform to work on, the platform barely changed from 73-2013 so parts are everywhere.
On another note.
I've been in Ocala for the past 3 weeks or so. I stay somewhere different almost every night.
I stayed at a bridge near Alexander Springs and on the first night I found 5 pristine, unopened beers. Last night was the last evening I was staying in Ocala National Forest, so I went back to the same spot. I found a fat 8th of weed on the ground, looked like it had been dropped only a few hours earlier. I was fucking hyped.
If any of you guys pass through Ocala National Forest, YOU HAVE TO STAY AT HOPKINS PRAIRIE.
Seriously, the camp ground is so low key, there is rarely anyone there because it's off a sketchy Forest road (don't worry if I can make it, you can make it). It was 10 bucks on the honor system, so you could probably get away with staying for free.
It's a perfect spot to leave your vehicle for a few nights while you Backcountry camp on the Florida Trail.
