No, the danger of AI is a lot more subtle and innocuous than that. It's the same thing as machines replacing weavers in the industrial revolution, instead you have even more people to worry about, and a more broad reach of said technology. A singularity isn't realistic or a danger, the danger is simply so many jobs being replaced by machines that the only money going in and out of an economy are between companies.

Yeah, check out the YT vids of people self repairing Teslas. Some have run into several issues with them despite Musk claiming them to be essentially zero maintenance, and if they get the parts and replace them themselves they lose warranty and are cut off from the Tesla charging station network (they don't even show up on the screen maps anymore). Getting the same repairs at Tesla, which are far away from rural areas, are ridiculously more expensive.
