>>1657815Well naturally. I'm thinking more of moments where I've been on the trail a minute, decide to find an elevated position to rest and survey the terrain. Being able to see out for miles and miles and hear absolutely nothing, see absolutely nobody, is always a bit disconcerting, in the best way.
In camp of course it's a different story. Put on some psychedelic rock or some old school country, get the fire going, cook dinner, and break out the whiskey. Then when you roll out the bedrolls or climb into the sleeping bags, and the fire starts to die, and you cut the music off, you settle back into the silence (save for the occasional coyote of course), and just watch the lightshow. Stars upon stars, and no thoughts beyond humility and awe.
