>>1654200And I'll say it again.
We're not getting through the night/ winter with the power of batteries or pumped storage plants, but by overproducing energy. Batteries/ pumped storage plants are just a way to level out dips and to have peace of mind in case of bad weather.
Hydro plants can be made larger, but than people would cry about how ugly the coast line will look.
Well my personal experience is with my house, but my professional experience is with selling machine tools. 90% is machines for the car industry. Had a project with Ford that got stopped because they scrapped the whole engine. ( ICE). At the moment nobody invests in ICE-engines. But they do invest in electric motors. Believe me when I say, that in 10 years, you will be hard pressed to even order an ICE-car.
I also did a project with a chinese solar company ( Stirling-engine for power production in remote areas)
Actually 1/4 of Chinas energy production is already renewable and increasing rapidly.
Regarding the house:
Solid brick built in 1972. Just increased on insulation. I heat from Feb-Nov with 40 square meters of solar thermal collectors and in the 2 winter months with wood. Could replace the wood with a heat pump, but I don't wont to dig up the whole yard again for the collector tubes.
BTT:
Cars Electric Train Electric Trucks Electric Ships Fuel Planes Fuel ( From power to fuel- remember over-capacity makes this possible)
We don't need to have 100% perfect clean energy now. Just less shitty than the one we used last year.
50% of all those myriad industrial processes are powered already by renewables. Where is the problem to crank it up?
We will still have some coal plants as a backup in the foreseeable future.
>>1654215What kind of argument is that lol.
Yes any renewable energy source is many times more greener than your frigging coal.
Yes we cant produce energy from fairy dust and troll shit, but that's not changing that it's the best option we have at the moment.
