Probably the one you got in that pic. It's pretty big and durable.
Though I need some glue or some sort to repair it since it's been left neglected. The middle part, a small side of it got unglued and I need to re-glue it. Any recommendations?

Do they actually make ponchos designed to fit over packs? I don't know how many times I've bought ponchos thinking "this thing is huge, it'll cover my pack and my legs besides", only to find myself struggling in a rainstorm to get it to cover even half my pack.

Anything large enough for you and the pack will be too big to wear alone.

Whatever $20 USGI copy you can find off Amazon will probably work well enough. Invest in rain pants at least if you're deadset on not using a pack cover.

the US poncho copies are nice and cheap and pretty light and compact, german poncho in OP pic is a fucking tank and while being much heavier i really cant see it ever letting moisutre through
as people are saying you want some kinda goretex pants too, shit wont keep your ankles dry
if you are tall like me anything below the knee is getting soaked and its gonna run down into your fancy waterproof boots
i always bring full goretex + poncho. even if its not bad enough to use the poncho, great as shelter tarp, groundsheet, using it like a sack to pick up firewood or rocks,

Your poncho is to keep you dry, not your backpack. Get a waterproof backpack cover.

My ALICE pack is water resistant, which I then enhanced with silicone spray, and I have the old ALICE waterproof gear sacks for each compartment. If I'm camping in really shitty weather, I have a Gore-Tex backpack cover in British MTP camo.
